Cemetery will be seen on left side of road, on a hillside. The town of Steptoe is situated just north of where Hwy 23 intersects with Hwy 195.” “This cemetery was established in 1882, however County court house records state it was established on Jun 21, 1884. That was probably the date they recorded it. “The cemetery contains 3 acres and is an endowment care cemetery, owned and maintained by the Bethel Cemetery Association in Steptoe WA. I found it in excellent condition.” “The records listed with an asterisk * following them, are from work done by Wes & Carrie Lartique, in May of 1973 and I found no marker or stone for them. If death date is after 1973, I obtained it from an obit. I also obtained listings for deaths since 2006 from Wanda Alderman, the previous sexton.” “I visited and walked this cemetery on Jul 03, 2006, using a digital camera. And transcribed from photos.
