EXECUTIVE ORDER  07-05-68

WHEREAS, the rapid growth and changing needs of the State of Washington has required both the expansion of existing programs and the development of new programs; and

WHEREAS, these developing and changing needs make imperative the development of a better system for the delivery of state services and closer coordination between the numerous state functional programs; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to call upon persons of talent and skill to review the existing structure of state government and to make proposals for organizational improvements in the structure of state government,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Daniel J. Evans, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Washington, do hereby constitute the Task Force on Executive Organization as a separate program within the Office of the Governor. The Task Force is hereby charged with the responsibility of reviewing the existing structure of Washington State government and making recommendations for short-range and long-range improvements in the structure of state government. I request that the various state agencies provide the Task Force on Executive Organization with such reasonable assistance as may be requested.
