Gov. Gregoire orders flags flown at half-staff Sunday, Dec. 7 for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance day

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at all Washington state facilities be lowered to half-staff for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on Sunday, Dec. 7.

Flags should remain at half-staff until sunset Sunday or first thing Monday morning, December 8. Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day was created by Congress in 1994 in honor of those Americans killed or injured as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
