Gov. Gregoire�s statement on homeland security task force

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today released the following statement on the newly formed task force created by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to review the Homeland Security Advisory System:

�I applaud Secretary Napolitano for pulling together a bi-partisan group of leaders to review the effectiveness of the Homeland Security Advisory System, and have gladly accepted her invitation to serve on the task force.

�It is critical that we have in place the most efficient communication system possible to protect our communities. I look forward to reviewing the nation�s current system to inform the public about threats to our country, and am hopeful we will develop new strategies to create an even more effective communication plan.�
