Gregoire appoints Commission on African American Affairs� director

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire appointed Ed Prince of Renton, Wash., to be Executive Director of the state Commission on African American Affairs.

�Ed�s civic engagement and previous experience with the Commission on African American Affairs make him ideal to be its next executive director,� Gregoire said. �He will be an effective advocate for Washington state�s African American community.�

�I want to thank Governor Gregoire for this honor,� Prince said. �This is an incredible opportunity, and I look forward to continuing the commission�s valuable work on behalf of Washington state�s African American community.�

Prince previously served as acting executive director for the commission, program director for the Central Area Motivation Program and director of civic engagement and philanthropy for Seattle Works. He started at the commission October 3, 2011.
