Gov. Gregoire�s statement on the implementation of Affordable Care Act provisions

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire issued the following statement on the Obama administration�s move to implement provisions of the Affordable Care Act:

�The provisions of the Affordable Care Act that were issued today are important for those with pre-existing conditions and will give consumers greater ability to compare health plans. Washington state has been at the forefront of implementation and was one of four states to have our plan in early. Starting next October, our Healthplanfinder will open the door to insurance coverage for thousands of families and small businesses across the state. This easy-to-use tool is exactly in line with today�s announcement and will allow Washington families to compare plans to get the coverage they need � even if they have a pre-existing condition. I am confident we will continue to lead the nation on implementation efforts.�
