January 1998 DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL & HEALTH SERVICES, Social Service Payment System (SSPS) Year 2000 Conversion Project Team |
The SSPS authorizes payments to client service providers who care for more than 100,000 DSHS clients. This team has determined that conversion could best be accomplished by using existing state employees. The plan to hire a consultant was scrapped, saving the Department $1,000,000. In addition, the team's efforts moved the conversion project from four months behind to four months ahead of schedule. This was one of the first major state systems to complete the Year 2000 conversion process. |
