Senator Lisa Brown
Democrat. Senator Brown represents the 3rd Legislative District, Spokane. She is currently serving her third year as a Senator, having served four years in the House of Representatives. Senator Brown serves on three standing committees; Energy, Technology, and Telecommunications, Chair, Ways and Means, Vice-Chair, and Education. In addition, Senator Brown was appointed by Governor Locke to the Commission on Early Learning.
She is an Associate Professor of Economics at Eastern Washington University and holds a Ph.D and M.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado and a B.A. from the University of Illinois.Senator Brown is active in a number of community organizations and serves on the boards of United Way and Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs.
She has one child, Lucas. They enjoy reading, camping, and bicycling.
