Notes from transcriber Maggie Rail, October 2001:
The Old City Cemetery can be reached by driving west on Pennsylvania Ave to Memorial Road where you turn left. Continue on the black top road past the right turn and about half way you will see the cemetery on your right. A dirt road goes up the hill through the right portion of this cemetery. Lat: 47° 13' 12"N, Lon: 121° 00' 07"W T20N R15E Sec 17. See map.

This is the first cemetery the city of Roslyn had. When this filled the New City Cemetery came into being. With time it too was filled, creating the need for the new Roslyn Memorial Gardens.

The transcription presented here comes only from my reading of the headstones, which was done when I visited the cemetery. There has never been a record kept for this cemetery, according to the city hall. I know I do not have a complete work here. I could see evidence of burial places with no markers, or markers unable to be read.

I surveyed this cemetery on Aug 19-20, 2001, using pencil and pad, plus my digital camera. I have photos of most of the stones. Transcribed by Maggie Rail, Oct 11, 2001, edited Sep 13, 2006.
