Transcription notes: “Spring Canyon Cemetery was conceived by the Grand Coulee Lions Club. They purchased about 7 acres of land then had the cemetery built, with the first burial taking place in the fall of 1957.” “It continues to be owned and maintained by the Grand Coulee Lions Club, operating by a cemetery board. It has been self-supporting for more than 20 years with a perpetual-care endowment fund. After 40 years, about half of the grave sites have been used.” “This much needed cemetery services many towns in the surrounding area, such as Grand Coulee, Coulee City, Electric City, Elmer City and others.” “I visited and walked this cemetery on Jun 22, 2003. I used a digital camera and have photos of all existing and legible stones at that time. An asterisk following an entry was usually from records which have no photo and came from obits or some other source. Birdie Hensley provided additional names and locations to me twice after Jun 22, 2003.” |
