Transcription notes: “This cemetery is owned by the Mary Queen of Heaven Parish in Sprague WA. It is fenced and kept clean of weeds. A problem in this area is the wind and dirt blowing in and covering the stones. In 2006, it was overgrown.” “I surveyed it on Sep 12, 1999. Later, Marge Womach, also did research and a survey in more depth, sharing her work with me. Many of the records are from church or newspapers, since some headstones no longer exist. Marge, knowing who should be in this cemetery, proceeded to take her shovel to the cemetery and uncovered many missing headstones, making it possible to read them again after being covered over, when the winds blow the soil over them through the years. We can thank her for her efforts.” |
