| Agency History: | Initially named "Point Elliott" by the Wilkes Expedition in 1841, it was renamed Mukilteo in the 1860's after the town's settlement. It was here that the Point Elliott Treaty was signed on January 22, 1855, marking a lands settlement treaty between Territorial Governor Isaac Stevens and 22 Puget Sound tribes including Chief Seattle. The City of Mukilteo was incorporated in 1947 and is located in Snohomish County. |
