Transcription Notes: “Located on upper Pine Creek, south of the Stalder Ranch Road. This is northeast of Fish Lake. North of Riverside, south of Tonasket and west of Hwy 97 about 10 miles.” “This cemetery was established in 1914. It was known as the IOOF Cemetery, and is sometimes called the Upper Pine Creek Cemetery, no doubt because it is located on Upper Pine Creek Road.” “One section is the original cemetery, with a sign calling it the Pioneer section. There seems to be a newer section, which is also fenced off, and with very few burials so far. It was cleared out well, although the Pioneer section was not.” “After I transcribed my work, I compared with another reading done in 1979 by Opal Willms and Violet Utt. Those with an asterisk * after them, are from their work, and there is no photo for these.” “I walked and read this cemetery Aug 17, 2003, using a digital camera, so have photos of all existing stones or markers at that time.” |
