Transcription Notes: “To reach this cemetery from Riverside drive north on Hwy 7 for 11.4 miles to the Janis Bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn right and drive towards Mclaughlin Canyon, continuing on 3900 Road, which follows Chewiliken Creek for 7.2 miles. You will see the Chewiliken School on the left. Take the road to the right and continue maybe a quarter mile and watch for an old barb wire gate on your right. After opening the gate, you drive across a field and the cemetery is on a little hill about 1/4 to 1/2 mile away.” “Some of the information was from Lavon Mundinger and Margaret Mitschelen, Sep 17, 1982, used by permission from the Okanogan County Washington Cemetery Records, pub. 1991, plus some from Barbara Morrison. Barbara Morrison says that Albert Wilson and family have enlarged the cemetery and there are some new graves as well as unmarked graves and graves with wooden markers.” “I was never able to physically visit this cemetery. I have transcribed this cemetery from research and other sources.” |
