It was called Mountain View Cemetery at that time. I am not sure when the name changed. It is maintained by an elected cemetery board under the Whitman County Cemetery District #4.” “I compared my reading with the sexton files and have added their locations following the way I divided it up. They only divided it into old and new sections. I used the areas between the roads, which I describe below.” “Those entries followed by an asterisk * are those which I did not find and do not have a photo of the stone. Some of them had a stone which was illegible, or no stone at all. There still may be burials which there is no record of.” “I have transcribed from the headstone readings acquired when I walked and read this cemetery, using a digital camera on Aug 14, 2006. I found this cemetery to be very well maintained and in excellent condition.” Learn about the documentation of Cemetery Records in Washington and what information is found in the various record types by selecting the tab that says "About this Collection"here. |
