Notes from transcriber Maggie Rail, Aug 28, 2007 last edited Sep 12, 2007: “Driving north out of Pullman WA on Hwy 27, turn left or west onto Palouse-Albion Road & continue for 1.1 mile. Turn right onto Tate Cutoff Road & continue north for just over a mile. Across from the house on the left turn right onto a lane & continue up to the cemetery, you can see on your left.” “This cemetery was very sad to look at. It has been abandoned apparently. There was so much overgrowth that I may have missed the low flat markers. Be prepared for cheat grass in your socks when you walk through. I was not able to find out how it began and who owns it now. It was established in the late 1800s and the last burial listed was in 1973.” “I visited and read this cemetery using a digital camera on Jul 21, 2007. I compared my work with the previous work of the Lartigues done in 1973. Entries denoted with an * asterisk were taken from their work if I did not find a stone for them.” |
