The road winds around quite a bit in the 0.5 miles to the entrance of the cemetery.” “This cemetery is in the Milan Cemetery District 5 of Spokane County WA. It is maintained by a board of volunteers who have made significant improvements on it. The cemetery is surrounded by a fence and well maintained. “ “This land was deeded by John L and his wife, Edna A Smith on Nov 11, 1898 with the stipulation as follows: "This plat of ground to be used only as a burying ground. Should it at any time be abandoned as such - it shall be returned to the owner of the Ranch." (copied from deed).” “These records were first transcribed from the Sexton files of the Milan Cemetery, then in Oct of 2000 I walked the cemetery using a digital camera and transcribed all existing stones at that time. I returned in Sep of 2009 and again walked the cemetery using a digital camera.” |
