Take Colville Street north to 6th and it will be on the right corner of the block.” “At one time this was two separate cemeteries adjacent to each other. I was unable to find actual records, just word of mouth stories and the EWGS's findings on it stating that Peter J. Kelly donated land, which included his private cemetery, Kelly Cemetery, to Saint Mary Catholic Church. We were unable to determine the dividing line between the two as we surveyed it, because Kelly and Holy Redeemer cemeteries are now one cemetery. There is no sign, so many give it their own name. “ “In 1960 EWGS read the two separate cemeteries which I have presented in two separate files, Kelly Cemetery & Holy Redeemer Cemetery. This survey includes the readings of both sections as a whole, plus several recent surveys.” “Michelle Morris and I did a complete survey of this cemetery on Jul 17, 1999. I first transcribed from this in 1999. I made a few visits after that, with a complete survey again on May 26, 2003, using my digital camera. I have photos of all existing headstones and markers. If there is an asterisk * at the end of the entry, I do not have a photo.” |
