It is located directly across the road from the Immaculate Heart Retreat Center on S Ben Burr Road.” “Catholic Cemeteries of Spokane spent time working on the development of the Queen of Peace Cemetery for several years and the hope is to have it become the neighborhood cemetery for south hill residents. It has a peaceful atmosphere adjacent to the Immaculate heart Retreat Center making it a natural location for this cemetery. The rosary Garden Walk lends itself as a contemplative setting for prayerful remembrance of deceased members of families. It will be a fitting permanent resting place for future generations to come. Future plans include ground burials, family gardens, niches for cremated remains, above ground crypts and a mausoleum if the need is there.” “The cemetery property extends from the Rosary Garden, which is east behind the Retreat Center, down the hill south and east, encompassing about 20 acres giving the cemetery the expansion room for generations of interments into the foreseeable future..” “I understand there are some new burials in this cemetery that were moved from another cemetery. I do not have all of that information as yet. If and when I find out who they are, I will add a note to this listing.” “I walked this cemetery on May 21, 2013, my camera says May 20, 2013. I took a photo of all existing and legible stones and markers. There were about 30 unknown baby markers with no names on them." |
