Introduction |
The Broadacres County Burials index lists individuals interred at an unidentified site in Spokane County, Washington. Index information about an individual may include name, birth date, birth place, death date, and names of family members. Index data was compiled by Maggie Rail, a member of the Washington State Cemetery Association who has transcribed over 400 cemeteries since 1993. There are 56 individuals listed in this index. This index is in English. This index is open for research. Transcribed by Maggie Rail in 2004, last edited in 2010. Transcription Notes: “The location of this cemetery is unknown to me. I have heard it might be next to the Spangle Cemetery, and also it might be on the Spokane County Farm which was right near there.” “These names were taken from the Spangle Broadacres hospital death records book which was the Funeral Ledger kept from Jan 01, 1927 to May 28, 1929. J.S. McCormack was the one who ordered all the arrangements in this book. Each one died at the hospital at Broadacres in Spangle WA.” “The farm owned by the county, which held the hospital, and over 20 buildings on 240 acres of land was sold in 1945 to the Seventh Adventist Church for their Upper Columbia Academy. In my inquiries no one seems to know anything about a cemetery on that land, unless I am searching in the wrong places.” “I have held these names too long, and am unable to state where the County Cemetery actually is. In the book it would name the various local cemeteries as the place they each one was taken, but on all of these it simply said County Cemetery.” |
