Introduction |
Lippert Family Cemetery Nine Mile Falls, Spokane County, Washington Lat: 47° 48' 59"N, Lon: 117° 38' 10"W T27N R41E Sec 28 Transcribed by Maggie Rail, © Feb 02, 2000, updated Nov 15, 2016 [mrail@asisna.com]. Total records = 8. From Nine Mile Falls travel west on Charles Road, across the bridge and continue for about 5.3 mi. Take a right turn or north onto South Bank Road. After about a half mile you will see a turn to the right, which will take you into the Cutler farm, and continue just past the barn. The cemetery is to your left in the bushes. This cemetery appears to be about one acre in size. It no longer has a fence, which it had in the past. All of the remaining markers as well as the evergreen trees, were burned in the 1991 Firestorm. Only the lilac and elderberry bushes can be seen as a marker to spot it. I spoke with some of the Cutler family who now own the farm this cemetery is on. They were very gracious and happy to have me visit. I am told Georg Friedrich Lippert originally owned the farm that this cemetery is on, but now it is owned by Kit and Deb Cutler, situated in a middle area of their farm. Two markers remain, and neither appear in good enough condition to last long without attention. One has fallen over and is cracked, the other is loose on the base and the least pressure will tip it over, possibly breaking it. I visited this cemetery on Sep 10, 2002. - Maggie Rail |
