Agency History: The Kittitas Conservation District is a legal sub-division of state government mandated by RCW 89.08 to develop and administer voluntary, non-regulatory programs for the wise use and conservation of natural resources in Kittitas County. In 1947 the Cle Elum District was established. In 1962 the Kittitas and Cle Elum Conservation Districts were combined to form the Kittitas County Conservation District. It is governed by a board of elected and appointed supervisors who establish priorities and set policy. Supervisory board meetings are held at the district office in Ellensburg.
