Introduction |
Also known as Salmon Creek Cemetery or Goddard Cemetery.
Address: 11398 NE 10th Ave, Vancouver, WA Contact: Salmon Creek United Methodist Church Additional Info: Please note there are two separate cemeteries at this address. The cemetery looks like it is one cemetery but, per the caretaker of this cemetery, it is two cemeteries. As you enter the cemetery, the section and rows directly on the left, adjacent to the fence are not part of the Salmon Creek Methodist Cemetery — that is the Lutheran Cemetery. Everything else is the Methodist cemetery. Per the sign “Part of Goddard donation land claim. Established as a pioneer cemetery in 1893. Deeded to Salmon Creek Methodist Church by Goddard Family in 1893…” Cemetery is in very good condition and well cared for. Cemetery is fenced in, but not locked. There is a road into and thru the cemetery. . I walked and read the cemetery in February 2020. The oldest marked grave was from 1861 and the cemetery is still actively used. The newest section is the middle section front half. The oldest stones are on the right hand side and then the back middle. These are the stones that are visible. It is possible there may be other stones, some of which are no longer visible, either under grass or very weathered to where they are illegible. Total number of records: 281 Contributed by: Suzanne Livingstone |
