Agency History: | Eastern Washington University was founded in 1882 as the Benjamin P. Cheney Academy and then later in 1890 as Cheney State Normal School. In 1939, the school became Eastern Washington College of Education and in 1961, it became the Eastern Washington State College. Finally, in the fall of 1977, Eastern Washington University was formed converting the academic departments into schools and colleges. Eastern Washington University is located in Cheney, WA. |
