Agency History: | Established as a station stop in 1881 by the Norther Pacific Railroad, the City of Ritzville was named after Philip Ritz, an early settler of the area. Ritzville soon grew into a dry-land wheat agricultural community. It was incorporated in 1890 and is the county seat of Adams County. |
