Copies of marriage returns, 1900-1910, and marriage certificates, 1911-2003 were digitized, indexed, and submitted to the Digital Archives by the Washington State Archives, Central Regional Branch from their Chelan County Auditor record holdings. Agency History: | Chelan County was formed from parts of Okanogan and Kittitas Counties in 1899. Chelan comes from a Native American word meaning "deep water." The county is located in the north central part of the state. The county seat is Wenatchee. |
