Description:	These records include marriage returns (1899-1947) and marriage certificates (1939-2003) recorded by the Asotin County Auditor’s office. There are gaps in the records for several of the earlier years. After being digitized and indexed at the Washington State Archives Eastern Region Branch, the original records were returned to the auditor’s office. Images of the original documents are viewable, unless they contain restricted information. Agency History:	The Washington Territorial Legislature created Asotin County from a part of Garfield County in 1883. Asotin is a Nez Pierce word for "place of the eel." It is located in the southeast corner of the state. The county seat is Asotin.
