| Agency History: | Spokane County was formed from part of Walla Walla County in 1858. It was voted out of existence five years later and merged with Stevens County. In 1879 it was recreated and named after the Spokane Indians. The county is located in the northeastern part of the state. The county seat is Spokane. |
