This database is an index to the Saint Francis Xavier Mission Catholic Cemetery located in Toledo, in Lewis County, Washington.
There are 840 names listed. Location T11N R1W Section4 46 degrees 27.100’N 122 degrees 49.34’W Address 139 Spencer Road Toledo, WA 98591 (next to St Francis Xavier Parish) Directions to Cemetery Take exit 68 off of Interstate 5 and head east on Hwy 12. Head east on Hwy 12 for 2.6 miles and turn right onto Jackson Hwy (stoplight). Head south on Jackson Hwy for 5.7 miles to Spencer Road (flashing yellow light). Turn left onto Spencer Road. Cemetery is on the left side a very short distance down Spencer Road next to the St Francis Xavier Parish. History This cemetery is approximately 1 acre in size and was established in 1838. It is believed that this cemetery may be the second oldest cemetery of WA state with it’s first recorded burial in 1839. However burial books and plat maps only dated back to 1875. From 1901 to 1932, the church suffered three major fires that destroyed a great many of the records that were available at the parish. The oldest tombstone found was dated with a date of death in 1875. Transcription Notes The cemetery is well maintained and kept in very good condition. I walked and read the cemetery in May 2007.
