This database is an index to the Wilkeson Catholic Cemetery located in Wilkeson in Pierce County, Washington. There are 381 names listed and 17 names unknown. Cemetery History This cemetery was established in 1905 as Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. At this time it is called simply Wilkeson Catholic Cemetery. It is administered by Saint Aloysius Parish in Buckley, under the Archdiocese of Seattle. Location Lat: 47 º 03 º 43 º N, Lon: 122 º 03 º 08 º W T19N R6E Sec 28 Hwy 165 Church Street Wilkeson, WA Contact Information Saint Aloysius Parish PO Box H Buckley, WA 98321 360-862-6014 Directions to Cemetery From junction of Hwy 410 and Hwy 165 South in Buckley, head south on Hwy 165 1.6 miles to junction of Hwy 162. At stop sign, turn left, continuing on Hwy 165 for an additional 2.3 miles. Wilkeson Catholic Cemetery is on the left side of the road shortly before entering the town of Wilkeson. Transcription Notes Cemetery is in very good condition. There is a gate at the cemetery, but it is usually open and there is room for a car to pull in and turn around. Located 396 stones or markers including 17 unknowns. Cemetery directory says it contains approximately 800 burials in 240 plots. I only found about 400 marked graves. Either it means available sites, or there are about 400 unmarked graves. Cemetery originally walked and transcribed in April & May 2004. Cemetery was rechecked in February 2006 for new stones. ~ Suzanne Livingstone |
