Riverview Cemetery (Cemetery District No. 4)
This database is an index to the Riverview Cemetery located in Chelan County in Chelan, Washington. There are 1400 names listed. Cemetery History This cemetery was established in August of 1929 on land donated by J.A. Van Slyke. This was 5 acres of land designated to be used for burials and called Memorial Cemetery. Later the name for the cemetery became Riverview Cemetery. The first burial listed in this survey is 1923. There are several unknown burials here and there and there may be some buried before that time. In about 1954 Cemetery District #4 was formed, which takes care of both Riverview and Fraternal cemeteries in Chelan. Location Lat: 47° 50' 01"N, Lon: 119° 59' 40"W Riverview lies on the west side of Chelan on Riverview Cemetery Road. To reach the cemetery turn west onto Clifford from Woodin St. and continue for 3 blocks, at which time it turns into Riverview Cemetery road and continue for about 1/2 mile. The road ends at the Cemetery. Transcription Notes I completed the survey of this cemetery over a three day period in Oct of 1999. I have added additional records as I found them in obits, sexton records and other sources. Maggie Rail |
