Notes from transcriber Maggie Rail (current as of November 9, 2009):

Cemetery location Lat: 48° 52' 24"N, Lon" 118° 36' 03"W, T39N R33E Sec 14. Located on Long Alec Creek Road about a mile south of the city. From Hwy 21 take Ferry St and the second right turn will be Long Alec Creek Rd. It is about a mile to the cememtery. Watch for the sign. The cemetery will be on your right.

I visited and surveyed this cemetery on Jul 19, 2001. The cemetery is owned by the city of Curlew, and seems to be fairly well maintained, although not perpetual care. There are a few areas up in weeds, but by and large, where the burials are is sectioned into family areas and contained inside a barrier of some sort, with rocks or some other cover inside the barrier to keep weeds down.

It looks like it is at least three acres in size and fully fenced in. I am not a good judge of acreage, but there is plenty of empty space for more burials.

After I compiled my work from the readings, I compared with the book "Cemeteries of the Northern Half of Ferry County," pub. by NWGS in Colville WA. I have palced an asterisk at the end of each entry I included from that book. This means I did not find a marker.

I used my digital camera when possible while walking and reading the cemetery, difficult to read were handwritten in a notebook. I visited and surveyed this cemetery on Jul 19, 2001. Later I was able to contact the Sexton and have added more locations. A few obits added since then.
