Introduction	The Garden Valley Cemetery index lists individuals interred at Garden Valley Cemetery in Ferry County, Washington. Index information may include: name, birth date, birth place, death date, and names of family members. Dates on markers range from circa 1890-1950. Index data was compiled by Maggie Rail, a member of the Washington State Cemetery Association who has transcribed over 400 cemeteries since 1993. There are 174 names listed. Notes from transcriber Maggie Rail (current as of 2009): Garden Valley Cemetery is located at Lat 48° 31' 23"N, Lon 118° 11' 21"W, T35N R37E Sec 17. From Kettle Falls take Hwy 20 headed west toward Republic. Turn left at the Lake Ellen/Inchelium turnoff, heading south toward Inchelium. After about 4.7 mi you will turn right, or west, on the Lake Ellen road. The cemetery is in about a mile on your left behind the Garden Valley Church. The land for the Garden Valley Community Church and Cemetery was donated by Dick and Bertha Ensminger to be used by the community for a cemetery and a church. One of the first burials in the cemetery was William Maddox in 1908. Construction of the church building was started in 1909 and completed in 1911. I walked this cemetery on Aug 02, 2001 using my digital camera and notepad. Not all stones and markers were able to be photographed due to age or legibility. I have acquired the map of the cemetery, making it possible to add most of the locations. Additional records added from sexton files and/or obits. This index is in English.
