Notes: | Image shows men placing sections of large-diameter concrete pipe into a ditch by a dirt path, with the assistance of a wooden frame. Buildings are visible in the background. Orientation of handwriting on image indicates that it has been reversed. "State of Wash / W. E. R. A. Dist # 2 / 17-B7-11 / July 27 1934 / Neg. No 376 / Letingdown [sic] Sewer Pipe" -- handwritten in lower right-hand corner (reversed) on recto. "K.N." -- handwritten on recto in lower left-hand corner (reversed). "Twenty Third Avenue Sewer / (103) This project was one of the largest and most difficult improvements of its kind undertaken by WERA during its operation. Six Thousand Four Hundred and Fifty-six lineal feet of sewer pipe was laid, the pipe ranging from six to thirty inches in diameter, the major portion being thirty, twenty-seven and twenty-four inch.
