"Slide Prevention Tunnel / Charles St. & Madrona Drive Street / Seattle Wash." -- handwritten in center bottom on recto. "K.N." -- handwritten on recto in lower right-hand corner. "Slide Prevention / (163) This view taken on Charles Street and Madrona Drive shows quite clearly the obstacles encountered by the WERA laborers in combating the slide menace which threatens various sections in the City of Seattle. This view was taken in March, 1935, when slide prevention work was well under way." -- on typewritten note attached to verso.
