Three automobiles are parked near the building. "State of Wash. / W. E. R. A. Dist. #2 / 17-B3-35. / Aug. 15 - 1934 Neg. No 440 / Foster School. Painting and Fixing up Building" -- handwritten on recto in lower left-hand corner. "Rural School Program / (136) The improvements at the Foster School, a combination of CWA activities, included the construction of one story, 24 x 24 foot office building, painting the main school structure, playshed and manual training building, the installation of a tennis court and making other improvements to the buildings and grounds." -- on typewritten note attached to verso.
