Notes: Image shows men working on a ditch with wooden shoring structures inserted, in a sloping, forested area. Houses are visible in the background. "State of Washs [sic] E. R. A. Dis. #2 / Project 17-B15-96 / Neg. No 749 - 3/13-35" -- handwritten in lower left-hand corner on recto. "Slide prevention Broadway North / Seattle Wash." -- handwritten in center bottom on recto. "K.N." -- handwritten on recto in lower right-hand corner. "Slide Prevention / (158) Shoring up ditch in the Broadway North district preparatory to laying vitrified clay drainage tile. During the various slide control operations, WERA labor laid 4,430 lineal feet of this material. . While the work was in progress 8,375 lineal feet of ditch, two and a half feet wide and twelve feet deep was dug." -- on typewritten note attached to verso.
