No 386 / Sand Point Clering [sic] of Field" -- handwritten in lower left-hand corner on recto. "K.N." -- handwritten on recto in lower right-hand corner. "Sand Point Naval Air Station / (5) With but possibly one or two exceptions, the Sand Point Naval Air Station project was the largest undertaken under WERA. Before the operation was halted 104 acres of land had been cleared of standing timber, brushed and burned. Herewith is shown a view of men at work clearing the field, an improvement of enormous proportions. An extended recital of work accomplished at Sand Point is found in this report." -- on typewritten note attached to verso. |
