Economic Development Commission

RCW 43.162.010

The Competitiveness Council formed a Task Force on Economic Development which recommended the formation of an Economic Development Commission to provide strategic and policy direction to the Washington State Department of Commerce. The Commission will consist of private sector and labor representatives from around the state, and is intended to engage the state's business and labor community developing the state's trade and economic development policies.

Qualification:

The Chair of the Commission will be appointed by the Governor to serve a one year term. Members will be staffed by the Department of Commerce and other state agencies as appropriate.
