Locke appoints Cuthbertson to Pierce County Superior Court
TACOMA - Gov. Gary Locke today appointed Frank Cuthbertson to a newly created seat on the Pierce County Superior Court.
Cuthbertson, 47, is an attorney with Gordon, Thomas, Honeywell, Malanca, Peterson & Daheim, a Tacoma law firm.
In appointing Cuthbertson to the bench, Locke noted people come to court seeking divorces, child custody decisions and other resolutions to some of life's most wrenching tragedies.
"I want to make sure that our citizens are served by the very best, brightest and hardest-working judges," Locke said.
"Frank clearly is the right person for the job. His reputation for integrity, fairness, hard work and intelligence precedes him," he added.
Cuthbertson is a graduate of the Seattle University (formerly University of Puget Sound) Law School and Duke University. He also has served as an attorney for Group Health Cooperative, the director of planning for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and as organizer and legislative advocate for the Tennessee Hunger Coalition.
Superior Court judges receive $111,549 annually. He will join the court as soon as possible.
