The national recession is hurting all of us, with the most vulnerable families being hit exceptionally hard. This Thanksgiving holiday, please join me in donating to your local food bank.

As a state, we are seeing dramatic increases in demand for food bank resources. We must approach these trying times as a community, and make sacrifices, not only in our own homes, but to help those around us.

I call on Washingtonians to help in any way they can. Food banks especially need donations of cash, food and volunteer time to serve our residents in need. Let’s work together to help families struggling to make ends meet.
