2012 Legislative Summary

The past several years have been challenging for Washington as we work to mitigate the effects of the most severe economic downturn since the Great Depression. The Legislature’s regular session adjourned March 8, 2012, following a special session in December to close the budget gap. Another special session starting March 12, 2012, was called by the Governor to reach agreement on the 2011–13 budgets.
