Gov. Gregoire�s statement on the SR 520 tolling implementation report

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today released the following statement on the final report of the SR 520 tolling implementation committee:

�I commend the 520 tolling implementation committee members Bob Drewel, Executive Director, Puget Sound Regional Council; Paula Hammond, Secretary, Washington State Department of Transportation; and Dick Ford, Commissioner, Washington State Transportation Commission on their tremendous efforts in developing the SR 520 Tolling Report.

�This task was no easy feat and I especially appreciate their diligent work to incorporate feedback from key stakeholders, elected officials and the public, in a transparent and open process.

�Completing this analysis is the next critical step in meeting Washington�s regional transportation needs. The report provides me and the Legislature with valuable information that will assist us in making decisions related to financing the SR 520 project.�
