Statement from Governor Gregoire on Signing of U.S. Senator Patty Murray�s Port Security Bill

�I�d like to thank Senator Murray for her tireless work to pass this important bill. Port security is a key issue in Washington � we have the third largest container loading area in the nation. Senator Murray has devoted herself for five years to improving the safety of all Washingtonians and the cargo that comes into our ports.

�The Washington economy is dependent upon the smooth and safe operation of our ports and Senator Murray�s bill will make us more secure and keep goods moving.�
