Governor Gregoire Orders Review of Wind Storm Response

Governor asks Military Department to conduct thorough review of response activities and make recommendations for improvements

OLYMPIA � Governor Chris Gregoire today in a letter to General Timothy Lowenberg, ordered a thorough review of wind storm response activities since last week when the storm hit. She also asked for an expedited review of damage so that federal assistance for those affected can be requested quickly.

�We have been through a difficult fall,� wrote Governor Gregoire. �I�ask you to conduct a full after-action review of how our Emergency Management Department in collaboration with other responders prepared for and responded to the windstorms, and provide any recommendations on how to improve these processes.�
